If you balloon a basic (boxed) dimension, DISCUS OCR may not be able to convert that. In the image section at the top of the Characteristic Properties box, click to access the cropping tool and crop out the box. The data will display and then select the appropriate basic dimension from the drop-down list.
For our January issue, how would you like to have your company profiled in the DISCUS Dispatch. We will share a link to your website and give you a great deal of publicity. Would you like to export your DISCUS data into a PPAP form, that will capture about 60-70% of the data you need? If so, contact email@example.com and I will send it to you right away. When you receive it, under File and Export to Excel, import the template and it will be available for your next export as a candidate in the drop-down menu.
With DISCUS results, when you enter a result value, the numeric value is validated and if out of tolerance, turns red. Yellow indicates you are reaching a percentage approaching the out of tolerance. You can raise the warning to be set off with more or less strictness. Under Results and Result Settings the warning level is a default 50, but to have fewer warnings enter up to 99 or for more frequent warnings, lower to 10 at the least. Your customer may indicate the ideal warning for you to use and that level can be entered for those jobs for that customer.

Are your drawings from the 50s, 60s and 70s and hand written? Is your customer giving you such poor drawings that you can barely read them?
With DISCUS, sharper the drawing under View and Adjust Contrast to make the light, indiscernible drawing much bolder and legible.
Then without OCR, snap images around the drawing and just export the images to the AS9102, thus returning the exact image from the drawing to your customer. Be sure to not run the OCR and turn on the Include Images under BoC. Fast and easy FAI with images.
