Change Colors of Grid, Balloons More

If you want to change the colors of the mark ups on the drawing as you balloon, such as balloon and/or grid color, click Tools and Colors. Select the current item and is associated color to display a palette of Swatches or Hue, Saturation or Brightness (HSB) or the primary colors of Red, Green, or Blue (RGB). The color selected will then display on the panel.

Remove Result Values

If you want a new report with the same requirements but to replace the result value, you can easily do so. Under Results, click Orders and Report and then click the Manage Orders & Report button at the bottom. When the Manager Order and Report box displays, click to create a new order and enter the properties data that displays. Make this new report active. The results of the previous order are removed. To return to the other report with the result value, repeat the steps but make the displayed report with results active.

Enter Data in TDP Properties to Export to Form 1 Header of AS9102

Under TDP and TDP Properties, enter the data that displays and click each tab to enter data. Then under Other Report Fields you can enter the other FAI header information and select Full or Partial FAI and also select FAI Complete. This will populate the AS9102 form. For Partial, you can enter Base line and reason for Delta and this will also populate the AS9102.

Export Multiple Results Line by Line

If you want the multiple results to be displayed on separate lines in the Excel output instead of in one cell, you can quickly make this happen. Under Results and Result Settings, click the Multiple Values tab and click the toggle at the bottom to export line by line. When you enter the result data, such as 1.24, 1.25, 1.26, each of the values will display as a separate line under one characteristic number.

Speed up Slow Large PDFs in DISCUS 5.4

DISCUS 5.4 has two new functions under the Drawing menu to maximize/improve the OCR speed of large PDFs. You can choose to exclude the OCR image in the right bottom panel and / or progress through the Next and Previous functions faster without refreshing the PDF page.

Create Custom Requirements with DISCUS 5.4

Now you can create custom fields in DISCUS requirements and export the data to Excel. Here’s how!
1. Under BoC click Custom Requirement and enter the Value (not the case and spelling of the entry). For example, the entry is Lot.
2. Indicate if you want predefined values or free form text entry. Then in the Excel template, create a new column for this data to export.
3. The token for this example is ${boc_Lot}. If you entered Lot and Size, the token would be ${LotandSize} again case sensitive but without spaces.
4. Upon export the data will populate the newly created requirement column.

DISCUS Results: 3 Ways to Display the Data

If you have DISCUS results you can choose the type of result data to display. Click Results and then Results Entry Settings. Then select the Multiple Values Tab. You can choose any of the options for results display:
1. Report All Values
2. Report High & Low Values
3. Report Mean

Then click OK and the value you indicated will display upon export and in DISCUS

Add a Markup Text to the Ballooned Print

If you want to add some text to the ballooned drawing, such as special instructions, you can do so easily. 1. In the DISCUS toolbar at the top, click the Markup text icon (looks like a word document) and click on the drawing where you want to place the text.
2. Enter the text and adjust the size and/or font via the font function.
3. Accept the values and move the text where you want.
4. To edit, click on the text and right-click to select edit. Modify the text.
5. To copy, click on the text and right-click to copy. Click anywhere on the drawing and right-click to choose paste. The text is copied to the location indicated.
