Use DISCUS CMM to map multiple data points (such as hole dimensions 4 places) and the result data automatically populates the results in DISCUS. Then click on the list of values and the Reporting button to select the high and low, to express the range of values only if desired. Attend a webinar and we will show you how!
Your customer delivers a drawing to you and there it is…in all its glory, but so poorly scanned and so faint, you cannot read it. So pull out your magnifying glass, squint and ask everyone to help you read it. OR, upload the drawing to DISCUS, use the Contrast feature to darken the print and the Zoom tool to magnify the drawing. Finally, you can read the drawing, so cancel your eye appointment and put away the magnifying glass. DISCUS takes the print and gives you a fighting chance to read it.
The drawing is cram-packed with data, features and notes and you have diligently ballooned the drawing, then you notice AFTER you are done, that you missed characteristic 17 when you have 300 requirements. If you add a balloon, is it 301 or 17.1? At any rate, whenyour customer sees the oddball ballooning sequence, won’t they know you missed one (or don’t know how to count?) Never fear! With DISCUS balloon the missing item as 301 and then in the Characteristics Properties box, change the number from 301 to 17 and Voila! Your balloon 17 is magically inserted between 16 and 18, just as it should have been, just as if you planned it all along. We can’t promise you that you’ll never miss another balloon, but we promise if you do, your customer will never know you added it later and changed it to fit..
We have all had it happen, when a customer AFTER you have finished FAI says, “Whoops…we have anew revision and a handful of changes!” Well there’s no need to panic or grit your teeth. In DISCUS 5.0 create a New Revision and substitute the new rev drawing for the old and keep working. Add a markup text to indicate, new rev, just to show your customer that you are responsive and responsible. Contact email@example.com for a demo and we will show you how to Rev Up in two clicks.
Add a .txt file to the CMM module (Yes you need the Results module). click on the checkbox of a requirement and then right-click to choose Backfill. Click the dimension associated on the drawing (mapping to the CMM report) and the data fills in, including the result. Use your CMM to do all the work for you and accurately too.
Check the DISCUS website for our June 5.0 webinars and training for the new release. Attendees receive a trainng book for 5.0.
With DISCUS 5.0 click TDP and New Revision. Choose to lock or unlock the balloons. If you lock them and delete a characteristic, no renumbering is allowed. You can then view the “retired” deleted characteristic. OR, choose not to lock the balloons for the standard renumbering function. Attend a webinar and check it out for yourself. http://www.discussoftware.com/webinar.html
